Top 3 Bass Fishing Jigs For Year-round Fishing

Bass fishing jigs have been around for almost as long as the sport itself, and there’s a simple reason for that. They catch you fish…big ones. With so many different types of jigs out there, it can get a little overwhelming. Well, that’s what I’m here for. These are currently the Top 3 bass fishing jigs to use for catching more lunkers.

  1. The Finesse Jig:

Perfect for cold weather, pressured bodies of water with moderate to well clarity, and when the bass just don’t seem to bite. The finesse jig often results in a slow day of fishing, but is typically the only thing bass will fathom on those quiet days.

  2. The Football Head Jig:

Perfect for Deep water fishing, heavy brush piles, rocky bottoms, and thick vegetation. This will be a jig you can fish in 20 feet of water or flip and pitch into some hefty lily pads. Once the cast is made, simply drag the bottom by raising and lowering your rod tip. Be sure to keep the slack out of the line. Sensitivity is a must with these bass fishing jigs.

  3. The flippin’ Jig:

All you need is a 3/8oz black jig head paired up with a black skirt. This is the perfect presentation for fishing dirty waters with about 5 inches of visibility. We’re talking like chocolate milk type of visibility. A lot of the time it’s a great idea to add a black trailer to your rig. This helps by making the presentation larger, thus resulting in the attention of a nearby bass.

Now it’s time to see for yourself and put these bass fishing jigs to the test. Go out and grab one of each from your local tackle shop and add them to your arsenal. It’s time to start catching more lunkers!
